Casual Youth Support Worker

The Children & Youth Services (CAYS) Foundation invites applications for the position of Casual Youth Support Worker.

The CAYS Foundation seeks to hire Casual Youth Support Workers to support its team to work directly with young people between the age of 12-18 years old, building relationships to support care and protection, education, social and emotional development.

CAYS Foundation is a service working with the country’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.

CAYS provides services 24 hours, 365 days per year with young people and their families. The Casual YSW will be offered the opportunity to select from available shifts to support the core team and enhance the provision for he young people.

The role is the ideal for those considering a career change, or to add fulfilling additional employment.

The role provides the opportunity to sample a career in Residential Care with a manageable minimum expectation for monthly hours.

Please note:

Applicant must be Caymanian, RERC holder, or already on Island. Where appropriate, we will
apply to become a secondary employee on your work permit.
You will have the opportunity to be inducted and trained like full-time Youth Support Workers.
Service Leads will contact you to check your availability to work, when cover is required.
Only applicants who can demonstrate that they have Health Insurance coverage through other
avenues are eligible.
CAYS will provide pension contributions (pro-rated, based on the hours you work)

Specifically, the Foundation is looking for candidates with:

Good verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Windows environment, (Teams, Word, Excel) and common internet browsers
Ability to think independently and take initiative where/when appropriate.
Clean criminal background check and drug screening, and positive professional references
Personality, resilience and life experience, along with the ability to reflect on and learn from experiences.
